Last updated 19th July 2021

Objective

If you have just purchased an MX Plan solution, this means you have email addresses that you can use to send and receive messages from a device of your choice.

Find out how to get started with an MX Plan solution.

Requirements

Instructions

Once the MX Plan solution has been created and is available, you can manage it from the OVHcloud Control Panel. Depending on its activation date or if it has been migrated recently, you may have the old or new version of the solution. You will need to check this before you proceed any further.

To do this, log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel, and open the Web Cloud section. Click Emails in the services bar on the left-hand side, then choose the name of the plan concerned. Continue with the next steps, depending on which version you own.

Advanced features

Security policy

You may want to increase the security of access to your email addresses.

You can do this by setting the security policy for your MX Plan solution.

Please follow our guide on Managing the security policy of an email service.

Redirections

You may want to redirect your emails to another recipient, create an alias or systematically copy another email address.

To do this, you will need to create a redirection.

You can do this in two ways:

  • creating a redirection via webmail, via the inbox rules. To do this, please follow our guide on Inbox rules in OWA.

  • creating a redirection from your OVHcloud Control Panel. For example, you can use this method to create an alias, i.e. redirect an email address that does not exist to an existing email address. To do this, please follow our guide on Using email redirections.

Voicemail

You may go on holidays, or you may not have access to your email address for a certain period of time.

You can then create an automatic reply. Please follow our guide on Setting up automatic replies in OWA.

You may want to send an email from your personal email address, instead of or from another email address associated with your domain name.

To do this, you will need to configure the delegation for the email address concerned. Please follow our guide on Delegating account rights.

Mailing lists

You may want to send a regular newsletter to your contacts.

To do this, you can create a mailing list. Please follow our guide on Managing and using mailing lists.

Bottom of page

You may want to apply a global signature to all the email addresses for your domain name.
