Buying an Additional IP

Find out how to order Additional IP addresses for your instances

Since October 6th, 2022 our service "Failover IP" is named Additional IP. This has no further impact on any of its features or the functioning of your services.


You may need to configure an Additional IP address on your instances for different reasons. For example, you may be:

  • Hosting several websites on your instance.
  • Hosting international projects.

To meet these needs, you can order an Additional IP address for your Public Cloud instances.

These Additional IP addresses can only be migrated to instances in the same project.

This guide explains how to buy an Additional IP for an OVHcloud Public Cloud project.



Log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel and open your Public Cloud project. In the left-hand menu, click on Additional IP in the 'Network' section.

Then click on the Actions button and choose Buy Cloud Additional IPs.


A new menu will then appear:


Enter the following information:

  • The number of Additional IPs you want to order (IP blocks are not currently available)
  • The instance on which the IPs will be routed
  • The location of the IPs

You will also need to accept the General Terms and Conditions of Service.

Each Additional IP will cost you €2 ex. VAT. They will then be renewed automatically and free of charge every month.

They are available in the following locations in Europe:

Belgium Finland France Germany Czech Republic
Ireland Italy Lithuania Netherlands United Kingdom
Portugal Spain Poland Lithuania

Some of the countries listed above may not be listed, depending on the availability of IP addresses.

Location is only based on benchmark organisations.

For example, for RIPE blocks:

If you need to check this for other organisations, please contact them directly. OVHcloud cannot be involved in this regard.

Click on Generate purchase order to be automatically redirected to it (pop-ups must be authorised on your browser).

You can also find the purchase order in your customer area, by going to the Dashboard section and clicking on View my orders.
